                                                    Chapter 1

Asch sighed tiredly and continued walking down one of the vast hallways in the Daath Cathedral. He headed through another door and walked down the stairs quickly, looking around. ‘Van, where are you?,’ he thought, heading through another door. The Commandant had told the red-haired God-General to meet him in the Cathedral, but he had never specified where. Sighing again, he reached to open another door, getting angrier at his absent master with every passing second. ‘Is this his idea of a joke,’ Asch snarled in his mind. He was about to open the door, but voices coming from the other side of the door stopped him. Bringing his hand back to his side, he realized that the voices belonged to none other than that damn drek replica and his band of annoyances.

Asch decided it would be better to get away from them as soon as possible. He didn’t want that drek to hear a word of his condition. Turning around, he began to walk away, wishing he was anywhere but here, but a voice made him stop in his tracks. “Asch…?,” Guy said, closing the door quietly behind him. It was a good thing he had insisted that the party split up for awhile, otherwise everyone would have seen Asch, and Luke wouldn’t have left his original alone.

Asch had stayed motionless; the sound of Guy’s voice always caused him to drift off into another world. His eyes stared off ahead, half closed, his body swayed slightly, a small smile on his face. “Asch….are you alright?,” Guy asked, looking confused. Asch had stayed still ever since he had first called out his name.

Hearing Guy talk again pulled Asch out of his trance-like state. “I’m fine,” he growled, starting to walk away quickly. He heard Guy running after him, his stomach doing a nervous flip once he felt Guy’s hand on his shoulder, stopping him.

“Asch, I…….um……,” Guy said, fumbling for words. Asch just stared at him quietly, not saying a word, waiting for him to finish. Looking at Asch, Guy could hardly talk. Asch just had this presence about him, making him seem untouchable and distant. He always seemed so hard to talk to, but he hadn’t always been that way. Guy remembered when Asch was little, Asch was still going by Luke then and he was Asch’s guard, similar to how he watches over Luke today. Asch seemed so different back then. He was carefree and full of laughter, but would always stick close to Guy, not that Guy minded. He loved taking care of Asch, or rather Luke back then. Memories of his past guarding Asch always made him smile, and so a smile etched into his face, making Asch raise an eyebrow.

“Hey, what are you smiling about?,” Asch said coldly, shrugging Guy’s hand off his shoulder.

Guy shook his head to clear his thoughts, instantly embarrassed, “Just remembering something,” he said quickly. Changing the subject, he continued, “Asch, I was going to ask you if you would come back to the Man-.”

“Forget it,” Asch said quickly, turning away, “I’m not going back there.”

“But Asch,” Guy replied, sounding sad, “why not? Your family’s back there, don’t you miss them? And what about your friends, don’t you miss them as well?”

‘Guy…..I do miss you,’ Asch thought, still turned away, “They’re not my family or friends anymore, they’re the replica’s. I don’t belong there anymore and you know it!,” he growled, trying to hide the hurt in his voice, but he couldn’t hide it from Guy. Guy had always been intent on Asch’s feelings. He could always tell if he was upset or angry, Asch could hide his feelings from most, but not to Guy.

“Asch…,” Guy said, sadness for the God-General plain in his voice.

“I don’t want your pity, I don’t need it, understand? I chose what happened, I had an equal say in creating my replica,” Asch replied, swallowing a lump in his throat. Guy shook his head at Asch’s words.

‘Don’t you understand, Asch? I can understand you, I know how your truly feel about Luke. You feel like you’ve lost everything, but you haven’t. You haven’t lost me, Asch, you’ll never lose me, you’re the only one for me, Asch,’ Guy thought, desperately wanting to say these words to the saddened original. Guy placed a hand once again on Asch’s shoulder, as if trying to tell him his true feelings just though his touch. Asch jerked his shoulder away, and stepped away from Guy, still not facing him.

“Don’t touch me!,” Asch half shouted, “I said I don’t want your pity!” Tears were starting to form in Asch’s eyes now. Was that him shouting at Guy? At the only person in the world that he felt was the only one for him? ‘Guy…I’m sorry……please forgive me,’ Asch thought sadly, tears burning his eyes. “Just leave me alone……,” Asch said, this time not bothering to hide the hurt in his voice. He knew that there was no point, Guy could tell that he was upset, he always could, and it always made Asch feel so weak, to have to depend on another person seemed wrong.

“Alright Asch, if that’s how you feel then I’ll leave,” Guy replied, tears stinging his eyes. “But please, understand that if you ever want to come back to the Manor, I’ll welcome you back with open arms, even if no one else will, I’ll be there for you, Asch, just like I always have been and always will be.” Asch gasped slightly at Guy’s words. It made him want to go back to the Manor, just to be with Guy.  His body shivered slightly, imagining Guy’s gentle embrace. Sure, welcoming with open arms was just an expression, but the thought was all too real to Asch.

“I said I’m not going back,” Asch replied in a voice that was not his own. If he showed his true feelings to Guy, he was afraid of being rejected. After all, Guy had Luke now, and Luke seemed to be much better than him, at least, that’s how it seemed when everyone excepted him as the real Luke and threw aside the original.

“Not even for me?,” Guy said quietly, a tear streaming down his face. Asch turned around, a look of hurt on his face matching the hurt inside Guy.

“Guy……,” Asch said quietly, looking into Guy’s eyes. He allowed himself to stare into his former guardian’s light blue eyes for several seconds before shaking his head to clear his thoughts. “You have Luke, you don’t need me anymore, besides, if you suddenly wanted me instead of Luke, he would do nothing but whine like a child for not having your attention,” he finished, shrugging off the idea of being with Guy with difficulty. He knew he would never have a future with Guy, his damn replica would never stand for Guy paying attention to his original.

“I don’t care about what Luke would do, Asch! I want to spend time with you again!…I want to see you again and be with you again, don’t you get that?,” Guy said, more tears streaming down his face. He didn’t care anymore that he was crying in front of Asch. He knew that Asch would never accept to be with him and that he would never be the perfect one for Asch, and that hurt him so much. Asch’s eyes widened slightly as he averted his gaze to the ground. His heart was beating fast and his head was spinning slightly.

‘Why would Guy want to be with me? Why me instead of Luke?,’ He thought, looking at Guy again, only to find Guy crying. “Guy……please don’t cry……I……I’m sorry, Guy, I’m so sorry,” he blurted out. Seeing Guy cry made him think that he had caused that, and for that, he was truly sorry. “It’s because of me that your upset, please forgive me Guy, and…….and if you never want to see me again I’ll leave you alone, I promise,” Asch finished, choking on the words. The thought of not being able to see Guy again was horrible, but it was for the best if it would make Guy happy.

“You idiot…….,” Guy said, staring at Asch, “don’t you see, Asch, I can’t live without you!,” he cried, running for Asch and hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around Asch’s thin waist, pulling the God-General against him tightly, burying his face in Asch’s neck, crying.

Asch’s stomach did a huge flip when Guy pulled him close. He had never felt this before, this surging warmth spread through his entire body, but he loved the feeling and hoped it never went away. He could feel Guy’s tears fall on his neck and drip down to his collar bone. “Guy…….” he said carefully, “you will always have me,” he finished, hugging Guy back gently, wrapping his arms around Guy’s neck. He felt Guy tighten his grip, his stomach doing another flip, and hugged Guy back tighter.

“Oh Asch……,” Guy murmured against Asch’s neck, sending shivers of pleasure up Asch’s spine.

“Oh Guy…….,” Asch answered, trying his best not to moan at the pleasure he was feeling. Guy nuzzled his face against Asch’s neck gently, feeling a gentle warmth from Asch as Asch hugged him back. Feeling Guy nuzzle against him caused too much pleasure for Asch to contain, so he let out a quiet moan, unable to hold it back.

Guy heard Asch moan and could feel the heat rising to his face, causing him to blush when he realized that he had caused the young God-General to moan, and blushed even more when he realized that he wanted to hear him moan louder. He lost track of time as he was holding Asch, hoping that they could be like this forever. This was their moment, and no one could ever take it away from them.

Asch snuggled closer to Guy, resting his forehead on Guy’s shoulder. Breathing deeply, he took in the scent of Guy enjoying the scent, giving him a pleasure high. He felt his body shiver in pleasure again, holding back a moan. He had never felt this way before, he felt like a completely different person. He didn’t feel like a God-General anymore, he felt like it was back to how things used to be, he felt like Luke again. “Guy……,” he said, whispering in Guy’s ear.

“Yes, Asch?,” Guy murmured against Asch’s neck, causing Asch to moan in pleasure. Guy smiled against Asch’s neck, a shiver of pleasure running through him again at hearing Asch moan.

“Oh Guy, don’t let me go, please,” Asch said, nuzzling against Guy softly. Guy gently pushed Asch against the wall, tightening his grip around Asch’s waist, but not enough to cause the red-head pain.

“Of course not Asch,” Guy said, breathing on Asch’s neck as he answered. He could feel Asch’s body tense as Asch felt Guy’s hot breath on his sensitive neck and heard Asch inhale quickly in pleasure, pushing up against Guy gently. Guy felt Asch push up against him and let a small moan escape his lips, moaning against Asch’s neck, only to cause a slightly louder moan from the God-General. Asch was about to ask for more when he heard a door handle creak, telling them that they were not going to be alone for much longer. Guy quickly let go of Asch, regretting it instantly, and ran over to the door and locked it quietly. He could hear the person on the other side fumbling with the door handle, now discovering it was locked.

“Guy? Is that you? Why did you lock the door, Guy?,” came Luke’s voice. Asch suppressed a growl, clenching his fists at this sides. It figured it would be Luke who would ruin their moment. Guy turned and looked over at Asch, smiling slightly, he held open his arms for Asch. Asch’s eyes brightened and he quietly ran over to Guy, hugging him tightly and suppressing a chuckle. Guy hugged Asch back tightly, moving his lips close to Asch’s right ear.

“Asch, we are going to be in Ketterburg by tonight, we’ll be staying at the Ketterburg Hotel. If you can, could you come to my room tonight? I’ll have my own room and Luke will be down the hall,” Guy finished, hoping Asch would say yes. Asch gasped slightly, pulling Guy’s face to look at him in the eyes. Before he had a chance to say anything, Luke could be heard trying to break the door down and it sounded like he wasn’t alone anymore.

“Guy! I know your there! Why aren’t you answering me, Guy?!,” Luke yelled, kicking at the door. Guy looked apologetically at Asch, still waiting for an answer.

“Guy, I’ll be there, expect me around 11 tonight, I’ll find out what room you’re staying in and come to you tonight,” Asch whispered back, smiling. Guy’s eyes brightened and he smiled wide.

“Really! You’ll come?!,” Guy said happily, trying to keep his voice at a whisper. Asch chuckled quietly and nodded “Oh Asch……thank you so much,” Guy finished, staring into Asch’s eyes.

“For you, anything Guy,” Asch replied in a whisper, looking back at Guy.

“I’ll see you then, Asch,” Guy said quietly, giving Asch a small kiss on the cheek. Asch felt the heat rising to his face and could tell that he was as red as his hair. Guy saw Asch blushing and chuckled quietly, “Your so cute, Asch.” This only made Asch blush more.

“Guy…….,” he said quietly, leaning his face closer to Guy’s.

“GUY!!!!!!!!,” shouted Luke, who was still desperately trying to break down the locked door from the other side.

“Luke, there’s no need to shout, he’s probably not even there anymore, these doors have a way of locking themselves, or it’s quite possible that an Oracle Knight came by and locked it. These hallways aren’t exactly open for public viewing,” came Tear’s cautious voice.

“But I could of swore that I had heard Guy’s voice,” Luke persisted, kicking at the door again.

“Luke, stop that, if you break the door, how are we going to explain how it happened. Guy told us that he’d meet us by the Chapel, so let’s just head there and wait for him. He’s probably already there and wondering where we are,” Tear replied, keeping her voice calm, yet slightly irritated at Luke’s childish behavior.

“……Fine,” came Luke’s huffed reply. Guy could just see him now, crossing his arms, trying to act mature when he just wanted his way. Asch shook his head when he heard Luke’s reply, ‘Damn replica, he’s probably standing out there all pissed off because he didn’t get his way,’ Asch thought, a smirk spread across his face due to the fact that for once, he was the one with the break, and Luke with the bad luck.

Guy looked at Asch and saw him smirk, this time he raised an eyebrow. Asch saw Guy give him a confused look and replied quietly, “Just imagining the look on his face right now.” Guy chuckled quietly and nodded, letting go of Asch.

“See you tonight,” he said quietly, heading for a door to the left of them. Asch nodded, his heart aching slightly from knowing that Guy had to go. Guy smiled at Asch and walked through the door, closing it quietly behind him. Asch turned and started to head to the door where he came through, not wanting to meet up with his replica, but stopped. Looking at the wall, he noticed a window with a wooden frame, where he had been against the wall next to. Pulling out a dagger, he slowly carved GxA into the wood in small letters, as not to be seen easily by a passerby. Putting away the dagger, he touched the engraving gently, and smiled, warmth spreading through his body again, imaging Guy’s touch. With that settled, he headed out the door and proceeded out to find Van, hoping to get the meeting over with so he could join his loved one for an unforgettable night in Keterburg…
